Linda Martin (Cohort 1) named Executive Vice President, UT System

Congratulations to Linda Martin (Cohort 1) for beng named Executive Vice President, UT system, effective July 1st.

Linda most recently served as chancellor of the University of Tennessee Southern, where she was appointed in an interim capacity in July 2022. The board voted unanimously in 2024 to retroactively remove the “interim” from her title in recognition of her leadership and accomplishments. Under her direction, the campus strengthened academic offerings, grew enrollment, expanded student success, and increased its impact in Southern Middle Tennessee.

Linda previously held multiple leadership roles within the UT System, including vice president for academic affairs and student success from 2017 to 2022 and interim senior vice chancellor and senior vice president of the UT Institute of Agriculture from 2021 to 2022.

In her new role, Linda will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and provide strategic oversight of systemwide initiatives. She will support organizational goals, advise on long-term strategies, and represent the president in key engagements with stakeholders and partners across the state.

Congratulations to Linda!
